न तु तावदहं मन्ये प्राप्तकालं तवानघ । समागमं महाबाहो सूतपुत्रेण संयुगे,निष्पाप महाबाहु अर्जुन! इस समय रणक्षेत्रमें सूतपुत्रके साथ तुम्हारा युद्ध करना मैं उचित नहीं मानता
na tu tāvad ahaṃ manye prāptakālaṃ tavānagha | samāgamaṃ mahābāho sūtaputreṇa saṃyuge ||
Vāyu said: “Not yet do I consider the time to be right for you, O sinless one. O mighty-armed hero, I do not deem it proper that you should engage in combat with the charioteer’s son at this moment.”
श्रीवायुदेव उवाच
Even in righteous warfare, action should be guided by discernment of proper time (kāla) and propriety; valor is not merely fighting, but choosing when engagement is ethically and strategically fitting.
Vāyudeva addresses Arjuna and cautions him that the present moment is not suitable for a direct encounter with Karṇa (the ‘charioteer’s son’) in the battle, urging restraint and timing rather than immediate confrontation.
