दृष्टवा विनिर्जित युद्धे पार्षत॑ ते महारथा: । अमर्षवशमापतन्ना: पठचाला: सहसोमका:,युद्धमें धृष्टद्यम्नको परास्त हुआ देख अमर्षमें भरे हुए वे पांचाल और सोमक महारथी सूतपुत्र कर्णके वधके लिये सब प्रकारके अस्त्र-शस्त्र लेकर मृत्युको ही युद्धसे निवृत्त होनेकी अवधि निश्चित करके उसकी ओर चल दिये

Transliteration

dṛṣṭvā vinirjitaṃ yuddhe pārṣataṃ te mahārathāḥ | amarṣavaśam āpannāḥ pāñcālāḥ saha-somakāḥ ||

Translation

Sañjaya said: Seeing Dṛṣṭadyumna, the son of Pṛṣat, defeated in battle, those great chariot-warriors of the Pāñcālas, together with the Somakas, were seized by burning indignation. Resolving to stake their very lives and armed with every weapon, they surged forward toward Karṇa, intent on his destruction—driven by wrath and loyalty rather than restraint.
