भीष्मस्य मध्याह्नयुद्धवर्णनम् / Mid-day Battle Description: Bhīṣma Engaged by the Pāñcālas
ततः प्रदुद्रुवु: शेषास्तव पुत्रा महाहवे । त॑ कालमिव मन्यन्तो भीमसेनं महाबलम्,तब उस महायुद्धमें आपके शेष पुत्र महाबली भीमसेनको कालके समान समझकर वहाँसे भाग चले
tataḥ pradudruvuḥ śeṣās tava putrā mahāhave | taṁ kālam iva manyanto bhīmasenaṁ mahābalam ||
Sañjaya said: Then, in that great battle, your remaining sons fled. Taking the mighty Bhīmasena to be like Death itself, they ran from that place—fear overwhelming their resolve and exposing the moral collapse that follows when pride and aggression meet righteous force.
संजय उवाच
When one’s cause is weakened by adharma, courage becomes unstable; the encounter with a formidable, duty-driven opponent can shatter pride into fear, revealing the inner consequences of unrighteous choices.
Sañjaya reports that the remaining sons of Dhṛtarāṣṭra, seeing Bhīma’s overwhelming strength in the battle, regard him as Death incarnate and flee the battlefield.
