Sanjaya said: O Bharata, having heard Karna’s words, Krishna turned back and rejoined the Pandavas, with Yudhishthira at their head. The moment underscores Krishna’s measured restraint in diplomacy—after receiving the reply, he returns to his own side, leaving the moral weight of the decision to those who must choose between conciliation and war.

Even amid impending war, righteous conduct includes clear communication and restraint: after hearing the opposing side’s position, one returns without rash escalation, allowing choices to be made with full awareness of their moral consequences.
Sanjaya reports that Krishna, after hearing Karna’s statement, turns back and goes to the Pandava camp, joining Yudhishthira and the other Pandavas.
