कर्ण उवाच न विप्रियं करिष्यामि धार्तराष्ट्रस्य केशव । त्यक्तप्राणं हि मां विद्धि दुर्योधनहितैषिणम्,कर्ण बोला--केशव! आपको मालूम होना चाहिये कि मैं दुर्योधनका हितैषी हूँ। उसके लिये अपने प्राणोंको निछावर किये बैठा हूँ; अतः मैं उसका अप्रिय कदापि नहीं करूँगा
karṇa uvāca na vipriyaṃ kariṣyāmi dhārtarāṣṭrasya keśava | tyaktaprāṇaṃ hi māṃ viddhi duryodhanahitaiṣiṇam ||
Karna said: “O Keśava, I will not do what is displeasing to the son of Dhṛtarāṣṭra. Know me as one who has already renounced his life—one wholly devoted to Duryodhana’s welfare.”
