युधिछिर उवाच मन्त्रयस्व महाराज नित्यं मद्धितमुत्तमम्‌ । काम युद्धय परस्यार्थे वरमेतं वृणोम्पहम्‌,युधिष्ठिर बोले--महाराज! मैं आपसे यही वर माँगता हूँ कि आप प्रतिदिन उत्तम हितकी सलाह मुझे देते रहें। अपने इच्छानुसार युद्ध दूसरेके लिये करें

Yudhiṣṭhira uvāca: mantrayāsva mahārāja nityaṁ mad-hitam uttamam | kāmaṁ yudhyasva parasyārthe varam etaṁ vṛṇomy aham ||

Yudhiṣṭhira said: “O great king, counsel me every day with what is best for my welfare. And if you wish, fight for another’s sake; this is the boon I choose.”
