स संज्ञामुपलभ्याशु भारद्वाज: प्रतापवान् | निवारयामास तदा स्वान्यनीकानि मारिष,आर्य! सचेत होनेपर प्रतापी द्रोणाचार्यने शीघ्र ही अपनी सेनाओंको युद्धसे रोक दिया
sa saṃjñām upalabhyāśu bhāradvājaḥ pratāpavān | nivārayāmāsa tadā svāny anīkāni māriṣa ||
Sañjaya said: Regaining consciousness at once, the valiant Bhāradvāja (Droṇa) promptly restrained his own battle-formations, checking his troops from continuing the fight. The verse underscores the ethical weight of self-control in war: even amid fury and confusion, a commander’s return to clarity can halt further harm.
संजय उवाच
Even in warfare, ethical responsibility includes restraint: when clarity returns, a leader should prevent unnecessary violence and reassert control over his forces.
