Arjuna and Bhima’s pressure; escalation toward Bhishma

Sañjaya said: The Pāṇḍavas, tormented by Bhīṣma’s arrows, kept reflecting on his deeds of prowess in the battle; and at that time they could find no peace at all. The verse underscores the moral weight of facing an elder bound by duty—where valor and righteousness on the battlefield can still become a source of anguish for those who must oppose him.

During the Kurukṣetra war, Bhīṣma’s fierce archery overwhelms the Pāṇḍavas. As they contemplate his battlefield exploits, they remain distressed and cannot regain composure.
