शिष्य उवाच कुतश्चाहं कुतश्च त्वं तत्सत्यं ब्रूहि यत्परम्‌ । कुतो जातानि भूतानि स्थावराणि चराणि च,शिष्य बोला--विप्रवर! मैं कहाँसे आया हूँ और आप कहाँसे आये हैं? जगत्‌के चराचर जीव कहाँसे उत्पन्न हुए हैं? जो परमतत्त्व है, उसे आप यशथार्थरूपसे बताइये

śiṣya uvāca | kutaścāhaṃ kutaśca tvaṃ tatsatyaṃ brūhi yatparam | kuto jātāni bhūtāni sthāvarāṇi carāṇi ca ||

The disciple said: “From where have I come, and from where have you come? Tell me truly that supreme reality. From what source have all beings arisen—both the immovable and the moving?”
