Kṛṣṇa–Arjuna Saṃvāda in Indraprastha: Consolation, Legitimation, and Leave for Dvārakā (आश्वमेधिकपर्व, अध्याय १५)

indraprasthe mahātmānau rematuḥ kṛṣṇapāṇḍavau | praviśya tāṃ sabhāṃ ramyāṃ vijahāte ca bhārata ||

Vaiśampāyana said: In Indraprastha, the two great-souled heroes—Kṛṣṇa and the Pāṇḍava (Arjuna)—returned and entered that delightful assembly hall. There, O Bhārata, they spent time in joyful recreation and friendly conversation, showing how, after arduous duties, noble persons also restore the mind through harmonious companionship rather than indulgence or cruelty.

Educational Q&A

The verse subtly affirms balance in dharmic life: even great heroes, after fulfilling responsibilities, may seek wholesome recreation and companionship. Such relaxation is portrayed as orderly and harmonious—restoring the mind rather than feeding vice.

Vaiśampāyana narrates that Kṛṣṇa and Arjuna return to Indraprastha, enter the splendid royal assembly hall (traditionally understood as the Maya-built sabhā), and spend time in pleasant diversion and conversation.
