Speech-Ethics and Forbearance in the Celestial Court
राज्ञा पुत्रफलं देयमिति मे निश्चिता मतिः । अपीदानीं स धर्मात्मा इयान्मे दर्शनं रह:,“मेरे याचना करनेपर राजा मुझे पुत्ररूप फल दे सकते हैं, इस बातका मुझे पूरा विश्वास है; परंतु कया वे धर्मात्मा नरेश इस समय मुझे एकान्तमें दर्शन देंगे?”
rājñā putraphalaṁ deyam iti me niścitā matiḥ | apīdānīṁ sa dharmātmā iyān me darśanaṁ rahaḥ ||
Vaiśampāyana said: “I am firmly convinced that, if I make my request, the king can grant me the fruit of a son. Yet will that righteous monarch, at this very time, give me a private audience?”
