Śṛṅgī’s Curse on King Parikṣit
Parikṣit–Śṛṅgī–Takṣaka Causal Link
अपरे त्वब्रुवन् नागा धर्मात्मानो दयालव: । अबुद्धिरेषा भवतां ब्रह्महत्या न शोभनम्,यह सुनकर दूसरे धर्मात्मा और दयालु नागोंने कहा--'ऐसा सोचना तुम्हारी मूर्खता है। ब्रह्म-हत्या कभी शुभकारक नहीं हो सकती
apare tv abruvan nāgā dharmātmāno dayālavaḥ | abuddhir eṣā bhavatāṁ brahmahatyā na śobhanam ||
Hearing this, other Nāgas—righteous and compassionate—spoke up: “Such thinking is folly on your part. The killing of a brāhmaṇa is never fitting and can never lead to auspiciousness.”

Even when driven by anger or group pressure, one must not endorse brahmahatyā (brāhmaṇa-killing), which is presented as inherently adharmic and inauspicious; dharma is upheld through discernment and compassion.
Within the Nāga assembly, after some propose a harmful course, other Nāgas who are characterized as dharmic and compassionate object and warn that such intent is foolish because brahmahatyā is never proper.
