शशाप तं च संक्रुद्धो बीभत्सुर्जिह्मगामिनम् । पावको वासुदेवश्चाप्यप्रतिष्ठो भविष्यसि,फिर क्रोधमें भरे हुए अर्जुनने टेढ़ी चालसे चलनेवाले उस नागको शाप दिया--'अरे! तू आश्रयहीन हो जायगा।' अग्नि और श्रीकृष्णने भी उसका अनुमोदन किया
śaśāpa taṃ ca saṃkruddho bībhatsur jihmagāminam | pāvako vāsudevaś cāpy apratiṣṭho bhaviṣyasi ||
Vaiśampāyana said: Enraged, Arjuna (Bībhatsu) cursed that serpent who moved with crooked intent: “You shall become without refuge and without standing.” Agni and Vāsudeva (Kṛṣṇa) also assented to his pronouncement, underscoring that deceitful, harmful conduct invites swift moral consequence.
