Vaiśampāyana said: The place was filled with the loud resonance of hundreds of musical instruments. The air was perfumed with the fragrance of costly aguru-incense; the floor had been sprinkled with sandal-scented water; and garlands and floral festoons hung all around, enhancing the splendor of the scene. The description underscores a public, auspicious celebration where external order, purity, and beauty mirror the community’s intent to honor a significant rite or guest in a dharmic manner.
