Uccaiḥśravas Color-Wager and the Nāga Curse

atha parvatarājānaṃ tam ananto mahābalaḥ | ujjahāra balād brahman vanaṃ savanaṃ savanaukasam ||

Śaunaka said: Then the mighty Ananta, exerting sheer force, uprooted that king of mountains—Mandara—along with its forests and all the creatures dwelling in those forests. The episode underscores overwhelming divine strength harnessed for a cosmic purpose, where even the stability of nature can be moved when the larger order (dharma and the gods’ work) requires it.
