tato 'nantaḥ samutthāya brahmaṇā paricoditaḥ | nārāyaṇena cāpy uktaḥ tasmin karmaṇi vīryavān ||

Then Ananta (Śeṣa), urged on by Brahmā and also instructed by Nārāyaṇa, rose up; that mighty one set himself to the appointed task. The passage underscores that even the most powerful act rightly when aligned with divine ordinance and purposeful duty rather than personal impulse.

Educational Q&A

True power is shown by readiness to act in accordance with rightful instruction and cosmic purpose; might becomes dharmic when guided by higher authority and directed toward an ordained task.

Śaunaka reports that Ananta (Śeṣa) rises and undertakes a specific work after being prompted by Brahmā and also commanded by Nārāyaṇa, indicating coordinated divine direction behind the action.
