जतुगृहदाहः — The Burning of the Lac House and the Pāṇḍavas’ Concealed Escape

स समाजजन: सर्वो निश्चल: स्थिरलोचन: । को<यमित्यागतक्षोभ: कौतूहलपरो5भवत्‌,रंगभूमिमें जितने लोग थे, वे सब निश्चल होकर एकटक दृष्टिसे देखने लगे। यह कौन है, यह जाननेके लिये उनका चित्त चंचल हो उठा। वे सब-के-सब उत्कण्ठित हो गये

Transliteration

sa samājanaḥ sarvo niścalaḥ sthiralocanaḥ | ko’yam ity āgatakṣobhaḥ kautūhalaparo ’bhavat ||

Translation

Then all the people gathered there stood motionless, their eyes fixed and steady. Yet their minds stirred with the question, “Who is this?”—and, seized by curiosity, they became intensely eager to know.
