यस्मान्मे वसवो जह्र्गा वै दोग्ध्रीं सुवालधिम् । तस्मात् सर्वे जनिष्यन्ति मानुषेषु न संशय:,“वसुओंने सुन्दर पूँछवाली मेरी कामधेनु गायका अपहरण किया है, इसलिये वे सब- के-सब मनुष्य-योनिमें जन्म लेंगे, इसमें संशय नहीं है”
yasmān me vasavo jahruḥ vai dogdhrīṃ suvaladhim | tasmāt sarve janiṣyanti mānuṣeṣu na saṃśayaḥ ||
Vaiśampāyana said: “Since the Vasus have indeed carried off my milch-cow, the beautiful-tailed giver of milk, therefore they shall all be born among human beings—of this there is no doubt.” The statement frames a moral consequence: even exalted beings incur embodied suffering when they violate rightful ownership and act through forceful appropriation.
