एवं शशाप भगवान्‌ वसूंस्तान्‌ भरतर्षभ । वशं क्रोधस्य सम्प्राप्त आपवो मुनिसत्तम:,भरतर्षभ! इस प्रकार मुनिवर भगवान्‌ वसिष्ठने क्रोधके आवेशमें आकर उन वसुओंको शाप दिया

Transliteration

evaṁ śaśāpa bhagavān vasūṁs tān bharatarṣabha | vaśaṁ krodhasya samprāpta āpo vo munisattamaḥ ||

Translation

Vaiśampāyana said: “O bull among the Bharatas, thus did the revered sage pronounce a curse upon those Vasus. Having fallen under the sway of anger, that foremost of ascetics spoke words that bound them to the consequences of their offense.”
