Mantra 1
Forth through the mid-air passed the shining realms, in Soma’s rapture, when Indra clave the Vala.
Mantra 2
He drave the Cows forth for the Aṅgirases, making them manifest from caves wherein they lay; hitherward he thrust away the Vala.
Mantra 3
By Indra are the shining realms of heaven—firm, yea strengthened—steadfast; he doth not thrust them from their place.
Mantra 4
Like a wave of waters, as though in rapture, the hymn speeds, O Indra, unto thee: forth shine thy exultations.
Vala is the mythic enclosure that hides light, cattle, and wealth. “Indra clave the Vala” is used as a ritual model for breaking whatever is sealing your progress—delays, blockage, or withheld resources.
Because the same action—breaking the obstruction—both removes harm/impediments and releases what supports thriving (radiance, gain, stability). The hymn also emphasizes that what is gained should remain firm and not be displaced.
No. Soma is the hymn’s archetype of divine activation and courage. In practical AV-style use, clean water (and optionally milk as a symbolic substitute) can accompany recitation to express purification, flow, and energized breakthrough.
