O Agni, with welfare from behind do thou heat him; with welfare from before; with welfare from the north; with welfare from beneath do thou heat him. Thou, one, yet threefold-disposed, O Jātavedas, do thou duly set him in the world of the well-deserving.
Rishi: Traditionally associated with Atharvanic seers in AV funerary book (18); specific r̥ṣi attribution is edition-dependent for 18.4.
Devata: Agni Jātavedas (funerary conductor and purifier)
Chandas: Triṣṭubh-like cadence (AV 18 often uses mixed/expanded meters; verify per pada-count in critical edition)
