Sukta 2
व्याकरोमि हविषाहमेतौ तौ ब्रह्मणा व्य१हं कल्पयामि । स्वधां पितृभ्यो अजरां कृणोमि दीर्घेणायुषा समिमान्त्सृजामि
ví ākáromi havíṣā́ham etáu táu bráhmaṇā ví aháṁ kalpayāmi | svadhā́m pitṛ́bhyo ajárāṁ kṛṇómi dīrghéṇā́yuṣā sáṃ imā́n sṛjāmi
With oblation I set these two in order; with sacred brahman I, in due wise, fashion them. For the Fathers I make the svadhā imperishable; with length of life I send these here forth in completeness.
Rishi: Atharvanic tradition (officiant-speaker ‘aham’)
Devata: Pitṛs (ancestors) / Svadhā (ancestral oblation) / Āyus (life)
Chandas: Triṣṭubh (probable)
