एतौ मृतौ द्वावपि पुत्र रौद्र- मवीचिसंज्ञं नरकं प्रपन्नौ । अधीश्वरो मे जनकः परोऽस्य कृष्णः पिता द्वावपि दीर्घकालम् । अहं च शुद्धेन निजेन कर्मणा शक्रासनं प्रापितो दुर्लभं ततः ॥ ७.१८ ॥
etau mṛtau dvāv api putra raudra- avīcisaṃjñaṃ narakaṃ prapannau | adhīśvaro me janakaḥ paro 'sya kṛṣṇaḥ pitā dvāv api dīrghakālam | ahaṃ ca śuddhena nijena karmaṇā śakrāsanaṃ prāpito durlabhaṃ tataḥ || 7.18 ||
Wahai anak, ketika dua orang itu mati, keduanya jatuh ke neraka mengerikan bernama Avīci. Ayahku adalah Adhīśvara yang Mahatinggi, dan ayahnya adalah Kṛṣṇa—keduanya untuk waktu yang lama (di sana). Namun aku, dengan karmaku yang disucikan, meraih singgasana Śakra yang sukar diperoleh.
