The Harm of Destroying a Grove and the Merit of Tree-Planting as Pūrta-Dharma

यो देवस्तत्र पाषाणो मृत्पिण्डेष्टकयन्त्रितः ॥ सोऽत्र सत्त्वमयः साक्षी तस्य पुण्यस्य कर्मणि ॥

yo devas tatra pāṣāṇo mṛtpiṇḍeṣṭakayantritaḥ || so 'tra sattvamayaḥ sākṣī tasya puṇyasya karmaṇi ||

“Dewa di sana—berwujud batu, terkungkung oleh gumpalan tanah liat dan susunan bata—di sini berdiri sebagai saksi, tersusun dari hakikat sattva, atas perbuatan yang penuh jasa itu.”
