कात्यायनी समागम्य ततः पप्रच्छ सादरम् । वद कल्याणि मे कंचिदुपदेशं महोदयम्

kātyāyanī samāgamya tataḥ papraccha sādaram | vada kalyāṇi me kaṃcidupadeśaṃ mahodayam

Lalu Kātyāyanī mendekat dan bertanya dengan penuh hormat: “Wahai Dewi yang membawa keberkahan, ajarkanlah kepadaku suatu nasihat yang memberi keluhuran besar.”
