दह्यन्ते विविधास्तत्र वाप्यः कूपाश्च भारत । दृश्यन्तेऽनलदग्धानि पुरोद्यानानि दीर्घिकाः । अम्लानैः पङ्कजैश्छन्ना विस्तीर्णावसुयोजनाः
dahyante vividhāstatra vāpyaḥ kūpāśca bhārata | dṛśyante'naladagdhāni purodyānāni dīrghikāḥ | amlānaiḥ paṅkajaiśchannā vistīrṇāvasuyojanāḥ
Wahai Bhārata, berbagai telaga dan sumur di sana pun terbakar. Taman-taman istana dan waduk-waduk panjang tampak hangus oleh api—tertutup teratai yang tak layu, terbentang hingga banyak yojana.
