जनमेजय उवाच । द्वैपायनप्रसादेन ज्ञानवानसि मे मतः । वैशंपायन तस्मात्त्वां पृच्छामि ऋषिसन्निधौ

Janamejaya berkata: “Dengan anugerah Dvaipāyana (Vyāsa), engkau kupandang sebagai yang berpengetahuan sejati. Maka, wahai Vaiśaṃpāyana, aku bertanya kepadamu—di hadapan para ṛṣi.”
