उपमन्युतपः-निवारणप्रसङ्गः / Śiva restrains Upamanyu’s tapas (Śiva disguised as Indra)
वायुरुवाच । इति श्रुत्वा वचो विष्णोः प्राह देवो महेश्वरः । शिशुं निवारयिष्यामि तत्त्वं गच्छ स्वमाश्रमम्
vāyuruvāca | iti śrutvā vaco viṣṇoḥ prāha devo maheśvaraḥ | śiśuṃ nivārayiṣyāmi tattvaṃ gaccha svamāśramam
Vāyu berkata: Setelah mendengar sabda Viṣṇu, Dewa Maheśvara bersabda, “Aku akan menahan sang anak; wahai yang mengetahui tattva, pergilah kini ke āśramamu.”
Vayu
Tattva Level: pati
Shiva Form: Mahādeva
Role: liberating
It shows Mahādeva as Pati (the Supreme Lord) who maintains cosmic order through compassionate restraint, directing even other devas toward their proper dharmic station.
Mahādeva’s personal action—protecting order and removing disturbance—reflects Saguna Śiva’s grace as the accessible Lord worshipped in the Liṅga, who governs the world while guiding devotees toward tattva (true understanding).
The takeaway is inner restraint (saṃyama) and disciplined return to one’s sādhana—supported by japa of the Pañcākṣarī (Om Namaḥ Śivāya) and steady observance of niyamas.
