Inquiry into Pramāṇa, Divine Autonomy, and Grace

Tattva Level: pashu
Shiva Form: Dakṣiṇāmūrti
Role: liberating
It asserts that moksha is not achieved by mere learning or indirect belief, but by aparoksha—immediate inner realization of Shiva attained through the highest, disciplined sadhana.
In Shaiva practice, Linga-worship and Saguna devotion purify and steady the mind; when performed as superior anuṣṭhāna, they mature into direct realization of Shiva, which this verse declares indispensable for liberation.
It points to sustained anuṣṭhāna—regular japa (especially Shiva-mantra), dhyāna, and disciplined observances; the aim is to move from indirect knowledge to direct experiential realization.
