Dakṣa’s Sacrificial Undertaking and the Devas’ Assembly without Īśvara
शंखचामरकुंदेन्दुमृणालसदृशप्रभम् । सतुषारमिवाद्रीन्द्रं साक्षाज्जंगमतां गतम्
śaṃkhacāmarakuṃdendumṛṇālasadṛśaprabham | satuṣāramivādrīndraṃ sākṣājjaṃgamatāṃ gatam
Cahayanya bagaikan sangkha, kipas cāmara, melati, rembulan, dan tangkai teratai; sang raja gunung tampak seolah berselimut embun beku, bahkan seakan benar-benar bergerak menjadi makhluk hidup.

It portrays sacred nature as a theophany: even the seemingly unmoving mountain can appear “alive,” pointing to Pati (Śiva) as the consciousness pervading both the moving (jaṅgama) and unmoving (sthāvara) worlds.
By describing a tangible, luminous form perceived in the world, the verse supports Saguna devotion—training the devotee to recognize Śiva’s presence through visible signs, just as the Liṅga is a concrete focus for realizing the formless Supreme.
Practice contemplative darśana: mentally repeat the Panchākṣarī (“Om Namaḥ Śivāya”) while viewing sacred places or forms, and meditate that Śiva alone shines as the purity and radiance within all appearances.
