राघवोभ्रातरंदृष्टवाप्रियंप्राणंबहिश्चरम् ।दुःखेनमहताविष्टोध्यानशोकपरायणः ।।।।

rāghavo bhrātaraṃ dṛṣṭvā priyaṃ prāṇaṃ bahiścaram |

duḥkhena mahatāviṣṭo dhyānaśokaparāyaṇaḥ ||

Rāghava memandang saudaranya—lebih berharga daripada nyawa, seakan-akan nyawanya sendiri berjalan di luar dirinya—lalu ia tenggelam dalam duka yang amat besar, sepenuhnya larut dalam renungan pilu.
