Narada Purana — Purva Bhaga, Shloka 52

Śrāddha-prayoga: Niyama, Brāhmaṇa-parīkṣā, Kutapa-kāla, Tithi-nyāya, and Vaiṣṇava-phala

संधायाग्निं ततः कार्यं कृत्वा तं विसृजेत्कृती । यद्याग्निर्दूरगो विप्र पार्वणे समुपस्थिते ॥ ५२ ॥

saṃdhāyāgniṃ tataḥ kāryaṃ kṛtvā taṃ visṛjetkṛtī | yadyāgnirdūrago vipra pārvaṇe samupasthite || 52 ||

Setelah menyalakan api suci, orang bijaksana hendaknya melaksanakan upacara yang ditetapkan menurut tata-vidhi, lalu dengan hormat ‘melepas’ api itu. Wahai brāhmaṇa, bila pada saat ritus Parvaṇa api berada jauh, prosedur inilah yang diikuti.
