Draupadī’s Application

तस्यात्मानं संत्यजतो लोका नश्यन्त्यनात्मन: । तस्माद्‌ द्रौपद्यशक्तस्य मन्योर्नियमनं स्मृतम्‌,अपने चित्तको वशमें न रखनेके कारण क्रोधवश देहत्याग करनेवाले उस मनुष्यके लोक और परलोक दोनों नष्ट हो जाते हैं। अतः द्रुपदकुमारी! असमर्थके लिये अपने क्रोधको रोकना ही अच्छा माना गया है

tasya ātmānaṃ saṃtyajato lokā naśyanty anātmanaḥ | tasmād draupady aśaktasya manyor niyamanaṃ smṛtam ||

Seseorang yang kehilangan penguasaan diri lalu, dikuasai amarah, sampai meninggalkan nyawanya—baginya kesejahteraan di dunia ini dan di dunia sana sama-sama binasa. Karena itu, wahai Draupadī, bagi yang belum cukup kuat, menahan amarah dipandang sebagai yang terbaik.
