FAQs

It points to the putra-kāmeṣṭi/putreṣṭi-type sacrificial protocol where consecrated pāyasa (ritually empowered oblation-food) is distributed, and progeny is said to arise from that sanctified offering.

Alongside ritual, polity, and other sciences, the Agni Purāṇa also preserves Itihāsa material—here, a compact Ramāyaṇa-linked genealogical notice that connects yajña-procedure (pāyasa distribution) with royal lineage formation.

The verse underscores the Purāṇic idea that properly performed yajña and the reception of consecrated prasāda/oblation can yield auspicious results—here, the merit culminating in righteous progeny and continuity of dharmic kingship.
