Nārada’s Journey to Śvetadvīpa and the Means of Attaining the Lord through the Pañcarātra
evaṃ mayoktaṃ viprendra purākalpe purātanam | pañcarātraṃ sahasrāṇāṃ yadi kaścid grahīṣyati || 66.13 ||
Varāha
It situates the Pañcarātra tradition within Purāṇic narrative time (purākalpa), reflecting how later ritual-theological corpora were framed as ancient revelations to establish textual authority and continuity.
No geographic location is named in this verse; the reference is temporal (a former kalpa) rather than spatial.
The verse emphasizes discernment and rarity in receiving specialized teachings—portraying the undertaking of Pañcarātra as uncommon ‘among thousands,’ which functions as a caution about preparedness and seriousness in textual reception.
