Recollection of the Dharaṇī-vrata and the Agastya-Bhadrāśva Dialogue on Liberation
idānīṁ tvatprasādena smaraṇaṁ prāktanaṁ mama | jātaṁ jātismarā cāsmi viśokā parameśvara || 51.4 ||
Pṛthivī (default dialogue framework: the inquirer addressing Varāha)
It exemplifies a common Purāṇic didactic theme: transformation through the instructor’s prasāda (favor), presented in dialogue form. The verse also reflects classical Indic discussions on recollection (smaraṇa) and exceptional cognition such as jātismaratā (memory of prior births).
No geographic location is named in this verse; it is primarily psychological and philosophical in focus.
The verse highlights a philosophical instruction that insight and inner clarity—framed as recollection and freedom from sorrow—arise through disciplined receptivity to guidance and the cultivation of liberating knowledge.
