The Birth of Gaṇapati, the Emergence of the Vināyakas, and the Significance of the Fourth Lunar Day
jñānaśaktimumāṃ dṛṣṭvā yad dṛṣṭaṃ vyomni śambhunā | yac coktaṃ brahmaṇā pūrvaṃ śarīraṃ tu śarīriṇām || 23.11 ||
Varāha
It reflects a Purāṇic style of philosophical instruction that links doctrinal concepts (knowledge-power, embodiment) with narrative authority by citing earlier divine speech (Brahmā) and visionary motifs (seen in the sky by Śambhu).
No specific geographic location is named in this verse; the term 'vyomni' refers broadly to 'the sky' rather than a place identifiable in historical geography.
The verse foregrounds reflective inquiry into embodiment—treating the 'body of embodied beings' as a subject for disciplined understanding—framing knowledge (jñāna) as a guiding principle rather than prescribing a social rule.
