Description of the Māhātmya of Gokarṇeśvara and Jaleśvara (Śaileśvara) in the Śleṣmātaka Forest
vratopavāsair homair vā naivedyaiś cārubhis tathā || yajante brāhmaṇā ye māṃ parayā śraddhayānvitāḥ ||
Varāha
It preserves a catalog of ritual modalities (vrata, upavāsa, homa, naivedya) indicative of lived religious practice and its textual systematization in Purāṇic literature.
No place-name is explicit in this verse; it is part of the Śaileśvara-kṣetra narrative frame in the chapter.
Disciplined practice and sincerity (śraddhā) are emphasized as the guiding principles of worship rather than mere external performance.
