Description of the Māhātmya of Gokarṇeśvara and Jaleśvara (Śaileśvara) in the Śleṣmātaka Forest
tapastapodhanānāṃ ca siddhakṣetraṃ hi tatkṛtam || prabhāsācca prayāgācca naimiṣātpuṣkarādapi
Varāha
By ranking major tīrthas (Prabhāsa, Prayāga, Naimiṣa, Puṣkara), the text participates in a broader medieval discourse that mapped religious-cultural prestige onto geography.
Prabhāsa (often linked with Saurāṣṭra), Prayāga (Prayagraj confluence), Naimiṣa (Naimiṣāraṇya), and Puṣkara (near Ajmer) are named as comparative reference points; the praised kṣetra is implied as superior.
It elevates tapas (austerity/discipline) and frames the kṣetra as especially conducive to disciplined practice and attainment.
