Description of the Māhātmya of Gokarṇeśvara and Jaleśvara (Śaileśvara) in the Śleṣmātaka Forest
yadā vṛṣṇikulotpannaḥ kṛṣṇacakreṇa parvatān | pāṭayitvendra-vacanād dānavān nihaniṣyati ||
Varāha (default dialogue framework)
It illustrates Purāṇic ‘prophecy’ styling, integrating clan identity (Vṛṣṇi) with divine weapon imagery to explain later social or geographic changes.
Mountains are referenced generally; the surrounding chapter situates the narrative in the Himalayan/Nepāla sphere.
The text frames violent conflict as subordinated to cosmic order and delegated authority (indra-vacana), rather than personal impulse.
