Description of the Māhātmya of Gokarṇeśvara and Jaleśvara (Śaileśvara) in the Śleṣmātaka Forest
tatra nāgahrade ghore sthāsyāmy antarjale hy aham | triṁśadvarṣasahasrāṇi sarvabhūtahite rataḥ ||
Varāha (default dialogue framework)
It preserves a mythic-sacred framing of lakes as inhabited/guarded spaces, reflecting older cultural attitudes toward water-body protection and taboo.
A ‘Nāgahrada’ (nāga-lake) in the broader Himavat/Nepāla setting; pinpointing requires additional textual context.
Commitment to ‘the welfare of all beings’ (sarvabhūtahita) presents a universalized moral frame compatible with environmental stewardship.
