Description of the Māhātmya of Gokarṇeśvara and Jaleśvara (Śaileśvara) in the Śleṣmātaka Forest
upāyamātraṃ dṛṣṭaṃ me dhyāyaṃs tad-veṣa-bhūṣaṇaiḥ || yathā yatra ca so 'smābhir draṣṭavyo vṛṣabhadhvajaḥ
Pṛthivī (default, inquirer voice; method-seeking tone)
It reflects inter-sectarian textual ecology in Purāṇas: a Vaiṣṇava-framed work can incorporate Śaiva epithets and ritual aims, indicating shared sacred geographies and practices.
No explicit location is given in this line; it asks about the “how/where” of beholding Vṛṣabhadhvaja, implying a tīrtha setting in the surrounding context.
It promotes disciplined inquiry into method (upāya) and contemplative focus (dhyāna) as prerequisites for approaching a sacred ideal.
