पितोवाच ॥ एकस्त्वमसि वत्सश्च नान्यो बन्धुर्विधीयते ॥ अधर्मं चानृतं चास्तु त्वकीर्तिर्वापि पुत्रक ॥

पिता ने कहा, बेटा, तुम ही मेरा एक बेटा हो, मेरा कोई और अपना नहीं है। चाहे धरम के खिलाफ हो, चाहे झूठ हो, या मेरी बदनामी हो, मुझे फर्क नहीं पड़ता।
