Aśauca
स्नात्वा चैव शुचिर्भूत्वा प्रेतं प्रेतेषु योजयेत्॥ एकोद्दिष्टं तु द्रव्याणां चातुर्वर्ण्यस्य माधवि
snātvā caiva śucir bhūtvā pretaṃ preteṣu yojayet || ekoddiṣṭaṃ tu dravyāṇāṃ cāturvarṇyasya mādhavi
पहले नहा के साफ़ हो जाओ। फिर मरने वाले को प्रेत लोगों में डाल दो। माधवी, चारों वर्ण के लिए एकोद्दिष्ठ में सामान चढ़ाना होता है।
