Enumeration of Ritual Offenses and Their Expiations; The Sacred Merit of Saukara and Mathurā Pilgrimage
dūrastho na namaskāraṃ kuryātpūjā tu rākṣasī || ekarātraṃ dvirātraṃ vā trirātraṃ snānameva ca || savāsāḥ pañcagavyāśī malasaṃvastrakaṃ kramāt || nīlīrakṣāpanodārthaṃ gomayena pragharṣaṇam || prājāpatyena śuddhiḥ syān nīlīvastrasya dhāraṇāt
Varāha (default instructor framework)
It preserves a snapshot of medieval/early ritual-purity discourse: graded bathing periods, pañcagavya usage, and named expiations (prājāpatya), reflecting intersections between Purāṇic instruction and normative ritual manuals.
No location is specified; the verse concerns general ritual protocol and purification measures.
Ritual acts should be performed with proper conditions and decorum; when impurity or procedural fault occurs, structured remediation (bathing, dietary observance, prescribed vows) is recommended.
