The Efficacy of Circumambulating Annakūṭa
Govardhana
vṛṣo hato mayā cāyamariṣṭaḥ pāpapūruṣaḥ || tatra rādhā samāśliṣya kṛṣṇamakliṣṭakāriṇam ||
Varāha (default dialogic frame; reported speech within narrative)
It shows how Purāṇic tīrtha-contexts can incorporate devotional narrative elements, linking place-making to character portrayal and moral language.
No explicit place-name appears in this verse, though it situates the scene ‘there’ within the chapter’s tīrtha landscape.
By labeling Ariṣṭa as pāpapūruṣa, the text encodes a moral taxonomy distinguishing harmful agents from the restoration of order.
