Uttara Bhāga · Yātrā-vidhi: Invocation of Viṣṇu (Padmanābha/Dīrghaviṣṇu) and the Goddesses
तथैव पद्मनाभं तु दीर्घविष्णुं भयापहम् ॥ विज्ञाप्य सिद्धिकर्तारं देव्यश्च तदनन्तरम् ॥
tathaiva padmanābhaṃ tu dīrghaviṣṇuṃ bhayāpaham || vijñāpya siddhikartāraṃ devyaś ca tadanantaram ||
tathaiva padmanAbhaM tu dIrghaviShNuM bhayApaham || vij~nApya siddhikarttAraM devyashcha tadanantaram
इसी तरह पद्मनाभ का दर्शन करो। यह विष्णु का रूप है जो डर दूर करता है। यह तुम्हारी मन्नत पूरी करता है। उसके बाद देवियों को भी प्रणाम करो।
Varāha
Fearlessness (abhaya) and success (siddhi) arise from surrender to the Supreme (Viṣṇu) while honoring divine powers (devīs) in their proper place.
In pilgrimage (and life decisions), seek abhaya through Viṣṇu-smaraṇa/prārthanā, and maintain reverence for the devīs as supportive śakti—without sectarian exclusion.
Petition Padmanābha (Dīrghaviṣṇu), remover of fear and accomplisher of success, and thereafter worship the devīs as part of the yātrā order.
Following the sequence grants fearlessness and success in travel; neglecting devatā-krama is treated as loss of auspicious completeness.
Vaiṣṇava theonymy (Padmanābha) resonates with Kṛṣṇa/Nārāyaṇa identity in Mathurā region, but no explicit Kṛṣṇa-līlā mention.
Varāha Purāṇa 160.11–160.13 (yātrā-siddhi petition; Hanūmat pūjā)
It shows layered devotional address within a travel-rite, noting both Viṣṇu epithets and subsequent invocation of devīs—evidence for integrated cultic practice in Purāṇic manuals.
No site is named in this verse; it is part of the pre-departure ritual sequence.
Proceed with composure and preparedness, framing travel as a disciplined act that includes seeking fearlessness and success through formal petitions.
