The Greatness of the Śālagrāma Sacred Region
evam etan mahābhāge kṣetraṃ hariharātmakam || mṛtā ye 'tra gatiṃ yānti mama karmānusāriṇaḥ
Varāha (default dialogue framework)
It documents the Harihara synthesis—an important cultural-theological motif—within a kṣetra-māhātmya setting, relevant to the history of sectarian interaction and shared sacred spaces.
The verse does not name a modern-identifiable location; it characterizes the chapter’s kṣetra as ‘hariharātmakam,’ a marker often used for composite or shared shrine landscapes.
It asserts karmic continuity: even in a highly praised sacred place, outcomes are described as aligned with one’s actions (karmānusāriṇaḥ).
