Varāha
Auspicious gati is supported by inner vinaya (self-restraint) expressed through regulated expiation.
Undertake time-bound expiation with mental discipline and bodily cleanliness when a transgression is recognized.
Instruction to Bhū-devī within the Varāha–Earth dialogue frame
For the jālapāda-related offence, perform a fifteen-day prāyaścitta with self-discipline and purity to secure an auspicious destiny.
Observance purifies the offence and leads toward śubha-gati; neglect implies continued impurity/obstruction to auspicious progress.
Varāha Purāṇa 135 (prāyaścitta sequence for specific aparādhas)
It provides a formal closure typical of prāyaścitta passages: duration, purpose (śodhana), and required disposition (vinīta, śuci), aiding textual classification and ritual-history study.
No location is specified.
Purification is presented as requiring both external regimen (time-bound practice) and internal posture (self-discipline and purity).
