The Greatness of Kubjāmraka: Raibhya’s Boon and the Teaching on the Sacred Tīrthas
śṛṇu tattvena me brahman yan māṃ tvaṃ paripṛcchasi || tīrthe kubjāmrake puṇye mama loke sukhāvahe ||
Varāha (default dialogue framework)
It exemplifies the Purāṇic pedagogical format: an inquiry prompts a structured explanation of a named tīrtha, valuable for reconstructing pilgrimage traditions.
Kubjāmraka is explicitly named; precise modern identification is uncertain without corroborating regional inscriptions, later māhātmyas, or local toponymy studies.
The ethical focus is on truthful transmission (tattvena) and the cultural value of preserving knowledge about sacred places.
